CONSTRUCTION

The steam engine I am building is a 4-4-0 American type. This engine is the 1925 version of a Baldwin 8-30 700. I am working from a old blue line erection print. This engine will be a complete kit bash. I have started with a basic piston valve cylinder set from Railroad supply. The photos below show a sample of the drivers. They were flame cut from 1" steel plate. I machine on them when I can.
I have made more progress on the tender than the engine. See below for the tender construction.
